Artist's Comments

A logo I designed for my martial arts class back in 2002, which I finally decided to sit down and do are really good job of coloring. I've very happy with it, considering that I usually hate my older stuff.

I think Rob (our instructor) will very much appreciate this :)

well, I'm grossly out of shape. I had to stop for a few month because of knee problems, and then the operation :P I'll be going back this Wedsenday.

"People forget that art has to do with explaining or expressing in some way-Humanity, our human involvement, what it means to be alive..." - Maynard Keenan James, 2000.
:iconwytewolf:
very nice-can you explain what these five animals or "spirits" suppose to represent? and the meaning behind it?
:iconackanime:
They are to represent the 5 different styles of Aiki-jujitsu.

Tiger - aggressive style
Crane - distracting style
Monkey - grabing style (grab and throwing moves)
Snake - "sneaky" style (I can't think of a better word to describe it. It's used to get into an opponents weak spots)
Mantis - quick style (quick attacks...but I can't remember if that's all. I think it's a more defensive style too.)

I haven't been to class for almost a year due to knee problems and surgery so I'm a little rusty. But today was my first day back :) Very happy.
